Let us take a moment of reflection to think about something that recently disturbed your peace. Was it a rebellious child? Problems with your peers or someone in leadership on the job? Maybe it was marital woes that seem as if they are beyond repair. Whatever that thing was that came so ferociously to take your joy, I want you to envision it. When you really think about it, what was the worst that could 've happen and did it? Ask yourself this... If it had not been for the hand of God upon it, would it have happened?
Sometimes we focus so much on what happened that we neglect to thank God for what didn't happen. Never would I expect you to minimize or neglect the fact that there was a happening; something that hurt you, frustrated you or disgusted you. The issue is real, what happened must be addressed. But when I think about what the devil intended for my life and what God prevented from happening, I must lift my hands and say Hallelujah Anyhow! We must realize that we have a real enemy that really hates us and wants nothing but our demise, mentally, physically, and spiritually. Knowing that we have an advocate that watches over us and our loved ones, that protects us when we don't deserve it and that foils the plan of enemy concerning us, that's enough to say Hallelujah anyhow. I know this situation doesn't look good, I know it doesn't feel good and if you let others tell it, won't sound good, but knowing that God is working it all out for my good, makes me grateful anyhow.
Romans 8:28 says "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.". I must believe that even this thing is working for my good. I encourage you to remember that this situation could have easily been a worse, but God! So, thank God even during this situation. Instead of focusing solely on what happened, give God praise for what didn't; and though it may be rough, right now the fact that you are breathing, able to think soundly, able to comprehend and recover from this situation- you have a reason to say Hallelujah Anyhow!
